Watching Obama's so called non, but it sure seemed like State of Union address was interesting. I got the most satisfaction out of watching everyone an attendance stand up and clap when Michelle Obama walked in. It was like our First Lady is royalty and for some reason I liked watching that image.
The Governor of Louisiana Bobby Jindal, who gave the Republican response was pathetic. He's been the butt of jokes nationally, since he gave his now infamous speech after President Obama's. In fact Republicans in general seem to be the butt of a lot of jokes lately. Take for instance, your favorite Republican and mine, Alan Keyes. Click here to read an LA Times blog and watch the you tube clip featuring Mr. Keyes.
Mr. Keyes still disputes whether Barrack Obama was actually born in America. He also calls President Obama a communist who will destroy America if he is not "stopped."
Had Keyes just stuck to speaking about his concerns with President Obama's handling of the economy, his rant would have been somewhat legitimate. People are going to have differences of opinion and there's nothing wrong respectfully disagreeing with someone. But, the name calling (I'm guilty of name calling too, but I'm getting better) takes credibility away from anything he said. He sounds like a jealous/angry man spewing hate, not someone who has political differences with our President.
Hell, he refused to even acknowledge that Obama is our president. His argument seems a bit ridiculous. I seriously doubt the state of Hawaii is covering up for our President, if they were, I believe it would have been exposed a long time ago.
If President Obama is even halfway successful with his economic plan, then the Republicans are digging a very deep ditch for themselves. It's a ditch that may take twenty years to get out of!

When Obama ran for State Senator of Illinois, mad man Keyes ran against him. If you can believe it, he was worse than he was on U-Tube, calling Obama a murderer and a baby killer. Obama just stuck to the issues, talking about what he wanted to do for the people of Illinois. This infuriated Keyes even more, and he called Obama other crazy names.
The amazing thing as that Republicans let him continue to do this. Everybody already knows he's crazy, but they're not beginning to see this as a reflection on the Republican party.
I whole heartedly agree with you, in fact the post I'm doing right now addresses all of these Republican rants and a few nuttier ones too. Good Post!
Macdaddy,
Sorry for getting back to you so late. I've been real busy lately.
I agree with you, Alan Keyes does come across as a crazy man. In fact, much of the Republican party looks and sounds crazy at this time!
Peace
Keith,
